If you thought that the recession is the only problem that B2B businesses are facing in 2023, think again. Cybersecurity has become even more challenging with the recent spike in attacks on a wide range of European and North American entities. Let’s check out the main ones and understand how good user management can make the difference. The Attacks are Multiplying Cybercrime has been a part of the SaaS world for decades.
So if you were on social media this week, you probably saw a ton of YC companies talking about how they were in the 2023 Top Companies. SaaStr Fund has invested in several of them, from Algolia to Treasury Prime to RevenueCat and more and it’s always fun to see awards and similar content from leaders like YCombinator. But beyond the great stories of who is breaking out, I found a quiet set of statistics even more interesting: where they are breaking out.
OpenAI has made available APIs for ChatGPT and the company’s AI-powered transcription and translation service Whisper. These APIs will help businesses to integrate ChatGPT and Whisper into their conversation platforms and will be substantially cheaper than using the company’s existing language model. “Through a series of system-wide optimizations, we’ve achieved 90% cost reduction for ChatGPT since December; we’re now passing through those savings to API users,” the company said in a blog post.
Dear SaaStr: When Do You Start to Develop a Brand in SaaS? In my experience, probably about $2m worth of happy customers. At that point, you don’t have a world-famous brand or anything. But you do start to have a “mini-brand”, where folks in your top niche or segment start to have heard of you. If your product costs $2,000 a year, that might be around 1,000 customers.

You will learn how leading teams are leveraging external QA partners to expand coverage, enhance defect detection, and remain aligned with CI/CD timelines.
Microsoft has launched the general availability of Microsoft Intune Suite, a consolidation of its endpoint management and security solutions to streamline protection for cloud-connected and on-premises endpoints. New employees who start a job feeling undertrained and disconnected from their work environment are far more likely to quit than those who have a good onboarding experience. With the unemployment rate lower than it has been in decades — even more so in technology fields — job candidates more often than not field multiple offers. So, if the onramp to a new job is bumpy, they’re far more likely to reconsider staying with the organization, even in the short term.

Think of it as another step in a long evolution that began with Microsoft Bob, then Clippy and Cortana , that is now on track to provide the capabilities those earlier efforts never did.
As a technology leader, you can develop software in many different ways — all of which have their own specific pros and cons. But hiring top talent is important regardless of which route you choose. Should you hire only onshore or offshore? Should you build your own team, use an agency or consider Toptal alternatives?
