There are so many metrics out there these days on how public SaaS companies are doing. Versus last week, last month, etc. etc, So many metric sometimes it’s a little hard to get a handle on what they all mean. The latest Bessemer Parting the Cloud summarized it all I think with one helpful metric: SaaS multiples are down 75% from a year ago. .

It’s often the case that top sales reps close 2x to as much as 5x as much as an average rep. With the exact same / equal leads. Microsoft on Tuesday announced its first “moment” update for Windows 11, one of the periodic updates the company signaled last month that includes the Amazon Appstore, Tabbed File Explorer and Taskbar enhancements. As it noted in September with the launch of the Windows 11 2022 Update , Microsoft said it would be periodically adding new features and experiences in Windows 11, similar to the company’s “ feature experience packs ” in the past.

Amazon. For the first time, Amazon is holding its second Prime Day shipping event in a year. The move is seen as a bid to reverse declining sales. Amid Prime Membership cost increases, as high as 40% in some markets, sales have declined for 2 quarters in 2022. In addition to this move, Amazon has backtracked on some logistics expansion plans. Closures and canceled openings impacted 50 facilities in the US.

After reportedly committing to nearly double its budget for salary hikes in May in order to retain employees, Microsoft this week laid off close to 1,000 employees, according to reports from Axios , Business Insider, and other news organizations. A report by The Washington Post said that Microsoft employee and industry veteran Greg Chapman had confirmed the dismissal of some of the employees in his Studio Alpha team on Twitter before making the account private.
