Q4 earnings season for cloud businesses is now behind us. Through these interactions, I’ve built up mental benchmarks for metrics on which I place extra emphasis. It looks at the YoY dollar change in quarterly revenue from the hyperscalers (just looking at Azure / AWS because the data goes back further) going back a few years.

But pretty quickly, the infrastructure layer should commoditize, just as it did in the cloud where three vendors command 65% market share : Amazon Web Services, Azure, & Google Cloud Platform.
