And I remember being at that Dreamforce in 2009, which was awful. Our monthly self-service churn went from like 3% to like 9%, right? If something bad happens, you’re going to have to cut your burn, probably. It’s usually one way, but just help that more communication, right? I mean, literally. We were wrong.

Congratulations you’ve built a product that’s proven itself in the marketplace! Twilio, for anyone who doesn’t know, is a voice and SMS API for communications. Your sales team becomes more efficient, your customer success team becomes efficient, your customers like you more. So, was about number 20 at Twilio.

Never believe that doubting yourself is a bad thing. That company only lasted another year before they were out of business, so it was a poor use of my energy, time, and being away from my family – a lesson I work to pass on to others new in roles today. Use your voice, communicate your goals often and don’t lose alone!

Despite huge growth and development over the last ten years, there’s also been some disappointments.
