The name RenderMan was coined in reference to the Sony Walkman for a futuristic rendering software that was so tiny it could fit inside a pocket. Version control systems would be built in natively, just like Google Docs. The engine may also have a marketplace of third-party editor UXs with each built to serve a particular use-case.
