You absolutely can have accuracy that beats the really large model, but the model you built can’t also entertain you on the weekend, answer physics questions, and help your kids do their homework. It will be like AWS, GCP, and Azure. You can train a smaller model—the latency will be faster and it’s cheaper to use later.
