Techstars, the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed, and Cox Enterprises, the global company dedicated to building a better future through leading communications, automotive services and media companies, today announced the launch of the Cox Enterprises Social Impact Accelerator powered by Techstars. The mentorship-driven accelerator is the second accelerator in partnership between Techstars and Cox Enterprises.

The new accelerator program will focus on companies addressing social impact, with a specific emphasis on companies in the STEM training, environmental sustainability, and community-enriching initiatives spaces. The program will also seek to support startups that have an impact at a community level.

“Income inequality, cleaner sources of energy and sustainable food production are just some of the challenges we’re all facing,” said Alex Taylor, president and CEO of Cox Enterprises. “Our company wants to invest in the future and empower great people to create a better future for the next generation. Investing in startups and accelerators like Techstars helps do that.”

The program will be led by a Techstars Managing Director and staff and supported by Cox Enterprises leadership and mentors. Kicking off in Q1 of 2020, the program will run for 13 weeks and culminate in a demo day where each startup will pitch their newly polished business to an audience of investors, innovation leaders, and industry professionals.
